Sona_CameroonSona is no stranger to Cameroon anymore. He is an ex-student of the Bilingual Grammar School, BGS, Molyko, Buea. Since he released his latest album African Juju, the 23-year-old rising Hip-Hop star, based in the US has been enjoying a great feedback from fellow Cameroonians. This is even more so, following his recent visit to the country. While in Buea, TIPTOPSTARS editor, Ernest Kanjo caught up with the talented R&B singer who expressed his unconditional love for Cameroon and his people.

Could you explain your mission to Cameroon?

Cameroon has been the big turning point in my life and all what I have achieved is thanks to my country. That's why I decided to come to Cameroon for a series of concerts by way of giving back to my Country.

How did it go?

I planned to have three concerts in Cameroon - Buea, Kumba and Limbe. I had one in Buea which was massively attended. Two others were postponed.

You didn't have Douala and Yaounde on your schedule...

When I return in February, I will organise concerts in Douala and Yaounde. I also have fans in this places that must be given the opportunity to watch me perform live.

What impression do you have of the people as you leave Cameroon?

They are a great and welcoming people who would always show love to their sons in the Diaspora. Their love inspires me to work even harder. I can't wait to come back. I'll always sing for Cameroon.

What does Sona envisage to do for Youths in Cameroon?

I will be establishing a full-time recording label in Cameroon in a few months. I will consider setting up a well-equipped musical studio, in a bid to help young and growing artistes in Cameroon.

What advice would you give to youths in Cameroon?

They should dream and work hard to see their dreams come through like I did.

Your impression about Tiptopstars

It's one in a thousand. You guys are doing a great job and I'm looking forward to working with you.
